Scout For 20 Minutes After Every Hunt

A great way to scout and not burn up precious time is to scout for 20 mintues immediately after your hunt is complete.  All that is required is for you to take a slight detour on your way back from hunting.  This could be while in your boat and you just take a longer drive back to the landing.  Perhaps there are some out of the way spots that you have never seen with your own two eyes.

Another example is to take a 20 minute detour in your truck from the normal route home.  Especially if there are some side roads that you can take.  You would be surprised at how many places are not that far from your normal duck hunting haunt.

Finding time to scout can be a bit of hassle for most duck hunters.  For this reason breaking it into managable chunks centered around the time you are planning on being in the field can allow for more scouting time.
