Largely used in goose hunting operations across the country, full body decoys are deadly effective when added to a decoy spread. Now they are not made for every situation, so let's dissect whether you should consider adding them to your duck decoy spread.
The full body duck decoy is a facsimile of a real duck as it stands on the ground. Included are the entire body as well as some colorful feet all with a stake of some sort to allow them to stand. Being that the duck is standing up and has feet, these are not made to be placed in the middle of your water decoy spread as they would look entirely out of place in addition to having no way to place them. So, how to employ them? Two key options. The first being if you hunt ducks in a field they are perfect to place standing around your blind to bring the ducks in close. But you don't hunt fields you say? Well the other way is if you hunt near any land or shallow water. Place them next to the shore in a couple inches of water or on dry land and watch the ducks come in real close for a peak.
There are not a ton of brands producing these today, with Avery Greenhead Gear Full Body Duck Decoys the best known.
